Michael mann and Chris Hemsworth spotted in Jakarta

Michael Mann, the acclaimed director of Collateral, Heat and Miami Vice, has been shooting his latest Internet crime thriller on location in Jakarta.

The film, with a working title of Cyber, stars Chris Hemsworth, Viola Davis, and Tang Wei and has also been shot in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and in the north of Malaysia.

In Jakarta, Mann filmed at the Irian Jaya Monument in Central Jakarta last week, leading a mixed local and foreign crew of 300 and 2,000 dancers.

“We chose Jakarta because we love Jakarta,” said Mann, who is regarded as one of the best shooters in Hollywood. “I love the friendly people, the colors. It’s not like any other place in the world. It’s unique and different.”
